Dr Belinda Yeo
MD, FRACP, MBBS, BA
Medical Oncologist
Personal Profile:
I am a Consultant Medical Oncologist, specialising in breast cancer. I am jointly appointed to the Austin Hospital as a clinician and to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute as a Clinician Scientist. I am also an Honorary Associate at the School of Cancer Medicine, La Trobe University, Melbourne.

I completed both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sydney and trained at the St Vincent’s and Prince of Wales Hospitals. In 2012, I joined the Breast Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London where I worked for over four years as a clinical and research fellow in breast cancer. I became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2014.

I completed my Master’s Degree through the Institute of Cancer Research and the University of London investigating better ways to estimate recurrence risk in patients diagnosed with breast cancer. I spent two years in a translational research laboratory developing a novel genomic test in early breast cancer. I returned to Australia in 2016 to continue my research at the ONJ Centre, joining their Translation Breast Cancer Program and I am a clinical trial investigator for multiple breast cancer trials.

I am a passionate clinician. My aim is to continue to find better ways to estimate risk in patients with breast cancer in order to personalise our therapies to those who have the most to gain from them. I work with a collaborative team of breast cancer specialists including surgeons, radiation oncologists, breast cancer nurses and other allied health specialists.
