Dr Yvonne Yeung
I am a consultant medical oncologist with a particular interest in gastrointestinal and breast cancers. After completing my MBBS (Honours) with Monash University, Melbourne, I completed my specialty training through Eastern Health, Austin Health and Northern Health, including an Austin Health Clinical trials research fellowship year, and received my Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2011. Following this, I spent several years in the Oncogenic Transcription Laboratory at the then Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, and then the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute, focusing on translational research in biliary tract cancer. During this time, I co-authored and contributed to several international publications.
I have worked as an Assistant Medical Oncologist for Professor Tebbutt over this time, contributing to outpatient and inpatient care, thus allowing continuity of care over the years. I have also been a Visiting Medical Oncologist at several private hospitals and have been employed as a locum medical oncologist at the Northern Hospital, and currently for Austin Health.
I am passionate about practising compassionate evidence-based patient-focused medicine and am a strong advocate for their needs.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my young children and am completing a Masters in Medicine (Pain Management).
